Aspire Holiday Benefit Event
Rebecca Lankford Designs has partnered with Aspire to host a community benefit event on Thursday, December 15 from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. at studio 703.
This event is more than just a holiday party – it’s an opportunity for us (and you!) to help raise awareness about the life challenges individuals with autism face and Aspire’s mission to help.
Aspire Accessories was founded in 2011 with a clear purpose: to assist individuals with autism or similar special needs in gaining transferrable work skills on real business activities.
Finding and keeping a job can be an extremely difficult thing for someone with autism or Asperger syndrome. Even those with high-functioning forms of autism still have trouble performing in a professional environment.
Short-term memory issues, problems multi-tasking, difficulty keeping up in a fast-paced environment, and even certain types of lighting can all be stressors for an autistic individual in a work situation.
To meet these unique challenges, Aspire provides a transition and training program that provides hands-on experience in a real-world work environment where individuals can gain transferable job skills in a safe and welcoming environment.
The individuals at Aspire work together to handcraft beautiful accessories such as shoes, jewelry, wallets, keychains, and most recently, leather dog collars!
Rebecca Lankford Designs has teamed up with Aspire to design and produce these beautiful dog collars, featuring silver studs, colorful leather, and even pearls! Each collar is completely customizable, so you can create a one-of-a-kind collar that fits your pet’s personality.
Make sure to stop by on December 15! We’ll have a food truck parked out front, awesome dog collars to browse, and some amazing people to mingle with.
We hope to see you there!
